Firehouse subs is giving back to the community awarding more than 42 thousand dollars.

The company’s public safety foundation awarded a grant to our first responders.

The Mobile Fire Rescue department, USA’s department of EMS education and Prichard fire all received equipment to help them on a day to day basis.

The total cost of all the equipment was $42,953.

The departments received everything from gas detectors, new hoses and cameras that detect body heat in burning buildings allowing fire.

Firehouse subs events outreach coordinator Nancy Palmer says this grant shows the impact of donations collected at local firehouse sub restaurants, "It’s going to go a long way we were able to give them tools they need they didn’t have currently the resources weren’t available for them to get on their own so we were able to give them the tools they need to help protect our community and saves lives."
