The Garda Criminal Assets Bureau (Cab) raided five homes and a solicitor’s office in six searches in Dublin, Meath and Waterford on Thursday.
In a separate operation, Cab seized A 191 Audi and a 182 Ford in Co Limerick, on foot of a High Court order.
The six searches were a joint operation targeting an organised criminal gang and involved members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Garda Emergency Response Unit, the Garda Special Crime Task Force and the Garda Dog and Revenue Customs Dog Units.
Documents containing information on the ownership of property, bank statements, mobile phones and electronic storage devices were also seized during the raids.
Garda said the criminal gang was based internationally and was involved in the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
No arrests were made but a Garda spokesman said the searches were “a significant development in the Cab investigation and will be seen as a major upset to the network used to launder the proceeds of their drug dealing activities”.
In a second operation, Cab seized two vehicles in Limerick on foot of a High Court order. The vehicles, a 191 registration Audi and a 182 registration Ford were identified as proceeds of crime as part of a Cab investigation.
